Trauma Therapy:

Trauma leaves a finger print on our nervous system and can have a lasting impact. However, humans also have an amazing capacity to heal, to grow and to be resilient through the worst of experiences. As part of trauma therapy, it becomes important to teach our nervous system to flow back to a state of calm and to process the traumatic experiences that have impacted us.

My trauma therapy approach integrates latest research into the brain and nervous system. Through treatments like EMDR, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, clients can have an opportunity to process traumatic events and to release the shock, overwhelm, disturbing emotions and sensations that keep them in a trauma space. These modalities have been shown to be effective to help clients with trauma symptoms to restore a sense of peace and to reconnect with themselves and a sense of well-being.

My training in trauma therapy includes the following:

  • EMDR Therapist, Level 1 & Level 2
  • DBR, Deep Brain Reorienting
  • Structural Dissociation Theory trained, for treatment of dissociation
  • Equine Assisted Trauma Therapy, EA-EMDR
  • Early Intervention Field Traumatologist (TITC-FT)
  • Clinical Traumatologist (TITC-FT)
