Tanya Lawrence
Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying)
BA, MACP
Hello, My name is Tanya Lawrence. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying). I hold a
- Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Family and Child Relations from the University of Guelph.
My approach to counselling emphasizes the connection between our mental states and physiological responses. By understanding how these states are intertwined, counselling becomes a holistic journey that helps us reconnect with our inner selves and, in turn, with others. We can restore balance to the body’s chemical landscape, improving both mental and physical well-being.
In my sessions, I create a non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Together we can set meaningful, personalized goals that align with your unique needs. This process is an opportunity to help you reflect on your experiences and uncover new perspectives that lead to greater clarity and self-awareness. With each step towards understanding, you gain deeper insight into who you are, what truly matters to you, and how you can intentionally create a fulfilling life.

In my personal life, I enjoy simple pleasures, whether tending to my garden, experimenting in the kitchen, or exploring the great outdoors. Gardening allows me to connect with nature while cooking brings that harvest to life with new and creative recipes. My love for travelling feeds my curiosity about the world, giving me a chance to experience different cultures, landscapes, and cuisines. When I’m not outdoors or cooking up something delicious, you’ll often find me curled up with a cup of tea and a good book.
